Perennial climbing liana. Leathery leaves to 200mm x 80mm. Cymes on old woody stems, 1-2 flowers with bractlets, villous calyx except upper portion, base of tube to 65mm long, dark purple at base & pale yellow with dark purple stripes above, upper part of tube to 30mm long, yellow inside, limb to 80mm x 70mm, dark purple inside with light yellow stripe, yellow throat to 15mm diameter. capsule to 160mm long.
