Twining shrub with silky vili, stems glabrescent. Glabrescent mucronulate leaves to 120mm x 90mm. Axillary fascicles of flowers with bracts to 4mm long, tomentose sepals, outer 3 to 12mm long, inner 2 to 10mm long, pale purple corolla to 80mm long with silky hair outside and white throat. Glabrous purplish-red fruit with persistent sepals which are purplish-red inside.
