Large woody white tomentose twining liana to 10m or creeper with leaves to 300mm x 250mm, glabrous above, villous beneath. Axillary cymes or umbels of 75mm flowers rosy-purple inside & white outside with bracts to 50mm long, outer sepals to 15mm long, inner ones to 12mm long all tomentose outside glabrous within, corolla to 60mm long. Puberulous brown berries to 15mm x 20mm
Rampant, can become a garden escapee, naturalized throughout tropics
Used medicinally in India
