Scandent shrub with angular pubescent stems becoming glabrescent. Leaves to 170mm x 120mm, silky beneath, glabrous above. Axillary few-flowered inflorescences with bracts to 33mm x 8mm of 35mm purple or pinkish flowers, sepals to 11mm x 9mm, corolla to 35mm. Reddish-purple berry to 17mm long.
