Twiner or scandent shrub with pilose stems, leafless branches . Leaves to 180mm x 130mm glabrous above & sparsely pilose beneath. Lateral umbels or axillary cymes with pubescent bracts to 7mm long, sepals pilose outside to 6mm long, reddish corolla 30mm long x 40mm with 5 lobes. Elongated globose purple-red fruit at least 10mm diameter with persistent sepals.
