Climbing perennial shrub, sometimes twining woody vine, with hairy stems clothed with powdery down at top. Mucronate leaves to 75mm x 40mm glabrous above, hairy beneath. Bright purple flowers with darker centre in 3-flowered cymes, flowers 50mm long, corolla hairy without. Yellow-brown glabrous fruit 10mm long.
