Weak shrub becoming scandent with glabrate zigzag puberulent stems. Leaves to 105mm x 55mm with serrate margins, puberulent above becoming glabrate & pilose beneath. Axillary & terminal panicles or cymes 5mm wide of greenish-white flowers, pistillate heads to 5.5mm x 3.5mm, of 17-50 pistillate ray flowers, cream corollas becoming purple to 2mm long, achenes 1.3mm long with pappus 3.8mm long, 1-3 hermaphrodite flowers. Staminate heads to 7mm x 3.5mm with 7-23 hermaphrodite cream becoming purple flowers, tube to 2.7mm long, limb to 3.4mm long. Hispid achenes to 0.8mm long with sordid pappus to 3mm long.
