Scandent vine with red-purple stems. Coriaceous denticulate or serrate leaves to 120mm x 45mm. Panicles, pistillate heads to 8mm x 4mm with 10-14 ray white-tipped purpled ray flowers, corolla to 3.7mm long, achenes to 1.5mm, 2 disc flowers with corolla to 5.4mm long. Staminate heads to 6.5mm x 4mm with 12 white disc flowers with lobes becoming purple, tube to 2.5mm long & limb to 3mm long.
