Large shrubby glabrous plant with sometimes scandent stems. Leaves to 150mm x 50mm with undulate margins. Terminal spikes to 300mm long x 10mm with minute bracts 3mm x 2mm & bracteoles 2.5mm x 1.5mm, calyx to 6mm long with segments 2mm wide, red puberulous corolla to 60mm long, corolla tube 45mm x 3mm at base to 6.5mm wide at mouth with bifid upper lip 14mm x 8mm.
