Shrub, tree or climber to 10m, flaky or cracked bark. Leaves glabrous or slightly pilose beneath to 180mm x 80mm. Staminate axillary inflorescence to 140mm long with bracts 1mm x 0.6mm, staminate flowers 2.5mm x 1.5mm, calyx 0.5mm x 0.8mm, 4 sepals, flowers to 2mm long. Pistillate inflorescence axillary to 30mm long with bracts to 0.7mm x 0.5mm, pistillate flowers 2mm x 1mm, calyx 1mm x 1mm, 4-5 sepals. Infructescence to 80mm long, glabrous fruits 6mm x 4mm.

Edible fruits, young leaves used as vegetable.
