Root climbing herbaceous hemi-epiphytic vine with wiry or trailing stems, fleshy roots. Leathery glabrous leaves to 130mm x 70mm, lower surface with numerous dark dots. Axillary erect or pendent inflorescence, spathe green with purple venation 160mm x 4mm, spadix to 30mm x 3mm green becoming pale purple, flowers 4mm x 4mm. 8mm diameter berries white becoming pale mauve.
Edible fruit, stems used for basketry & building
