Vigorous high-climbing liana to 15m with hooked branches. Leaves to 500mm x 100mm, young red leaves. Axillary or terminal lax cymes to 160mm x 110mm, flowers 10mm diameter, green sepals to 7mm x 4mm tinged red towards the tip, yellow petals fading to buff, 7mm x 5mm. Coriaceous fruit to 8mm 9mm with persistent sepals.
