Forest liane to 15m or climbing shrub, with hooks on branches, reddish stems. Leaves 330mm x 94mm. Lax latera; or terminal panicles to 150mm x 200mm with bracts to 1.6mm x 1mm, 5 green tinged red-purple sepals to 5.1mm x 2.9mm, 3 inner sepals larger than outer sepals, 5 yellow recurved petals tinged pink to 8.1mm x 3.2mm. Nut 8mm x 6mm longitudunally 5 ridged with dark red persistent sepals.
