Flowering Times
Fruiting Times
Herbaceous, twining vine with pubescent stems to 3m. Pinnately trifoliate glabrate or hairy leaves, leaflets to 80mm long. Axillary few-flowered racemes with bracts of 15mm red, purple, mauve or white sometimes apetalous flowers, pubescent calyx to 10mm long, white or purplish corolla to 15mm long, pale violet standard, white keel & wings. Legumes on roots, beaked pods to 35mm long
Can become a nuisance weed
Subterranean fruit & roots edible.
