Woody liane with tuberous rootstock to 300mm diameter. 3-5 foliolate leaves, entire or deeply lobed, simple of bifid tendrils. Yellow flowers, male flowers in small racemes, female flowers solitary, flowers to 30mm long, yellowish petals with fimbriate margins. Fleshy yellow fruit to 150mm long.
