Perennial dioecious tendril liana to 6m with a round tuberous rootstock, caudex to 2m diameter, hairy stems to 6m longitudually 5- ribbed . Simple tendrils. 3-5 lobed leaves to 150mm x 100mm with large triangular teeth. Racemes of white flowers with fimbriate petals. Male flowers with 5 white or cream petals to 10mm x 5mm. Fleshy ribbed fruit to 150mm x 80mm
