Woody climber-creeper with glabrescent stems sparsely hairy when young becoming warty & corky with age. 3-7 foliolate serrate coriaceous hairy leaves to 300mm x 100mm, terminal leaflet to 240mm x 85mm, lateral leaflets to 150mm x 65mm. Racemes with tendrils. Panicles of spikes to 300mm long. Berry ripening purple.
