Woody sometimes climbing erect shrub or scrambler with striated stems, 3-5 faintly toothed coriaceous leaflets, terminal leaflet to 380 150mm x 280mm, upper surface glabrescent, grey-downy beneath. Reddish flowers in cymes to 50mm across with tendrils, calyx 2mm across, 5 lobes, 5 petals deep red to 1.5mm long, yellow within. Red fruit 13mm diameter.
