Liana or herbaceous pubescent climber clothed with fine grey down, striated stems, with branched tendrils. 5-lobed toothed leaves to 225mm x 225mm glabrous above with reddish down beneath. Short pubescent lateral cymes or panicles 100mm across, of small flowers, calyx 2mm across, 5 scarlet petals 4mm across, lateral cymes or panicles of green or scarlet flowers to 9mm long, 4mm across. Purple fruit
