Woody hairy tendril liana, branches with dense brown arachnoid tomentum & purple bristles, bifid or trifid tendrils, ridged branchlets & simple leaves. Mucronate dentate leaves to 224mm x 260mm, purple nristles above, arachnoid tomentum beneath. Leaf-opposed panicles to 116mm x 67mm of flowers with shallowly lobed calyx, 2mm long petals. Berry aging black, to 20mm x 7mm.

Juice of young stem to quench thirst.
