Herbaceous tendril climber, red hairy stem when young aging yellow-brown. Toothed simple leaves to 130mm x 80mm glabrescent above, villous on nerves beneath with white indumentum aging brown. Pendulous racemes or panicles of spikes to 130mm long with tendrils, villous brown flowers, red petals & yellow disc. Glabrescent red berry to 12mm long.
