Large woody creeping or climbing vine to 10m with branched tendrils. 3-lobed dentate leaves to 160mm long densely floccose -tomentose when young. Panicles of dark-red flowers, 5 petals. 25mm diameter globose red-purple fruit with bloom in clusters to 250mm across clothed with rusty wool.
Fruit possibly edible, sometimes used for making vinegar.
