Large woody herbaceous tendril climber with branched tendrils, dark stems often spotted with blackish-crimson spots. Entire or 3-7 lobed leaves to 300mm x 320mm with dentate margins glabrous both surfaces. Panicles to 200mm long with bracts & bracteoles to 2.5mm long, green or purple flowers, glabrous calyx to 1mm long, 5 green or deep red glabrous petals 2.5mm long. Yellow-green glabrous fruit 15mm long in bunches to 250mm long.
