Sometimes scrambling or erect rhizomatous plant with normally hairy stems. Leaves to 420mm x 110mm sometimes tinged red beneath & sparsely or densely white to yellow-hairy, upper surface sparsely or densely hairy. Inflorescence to 45mm diameter, flowers with green aging lilac or purple glabrous sepals to 10mm x 5mm, glabrous pale pink petals 8mm x 2.5mm with minutely fringed margin. PInk to red or deep purple capsule to 9mm x 6mm with yellow bristly hairs
