Vine to 9m, treelet or shrub to 4m with angled glabrous or puberulent branchlets. Coriaceous leaves to 85mm x 29mm in whorls of 3-4. 1-5 flowered axillary or terminal inflorescence to 43mm long with bracts to 1.2mm x 1.1mm,fragrant white flowers, sepals to 2.7mm x 1.5mm, white or yellow corolla, tube to 4mm x 1.4mm & lobes to 2.7mm x 2.7mm. Fruit purple-black to 14.5mm x 9mm.
