Vine or shrub to 5m with angled lenticellate glabrous stems. Glabrous coriaceous leaves to 65mm x 26mm in whorls of 3-4mm. 4-6 flowered axillary inflorescence with bracts to 1mm 1.2mm, cream flowers, sepals to 1mm x 1.2mm, fragrant corolla, tube to 3mm x 1.4mm, lobes to 2.6mm x 1.9mm. Olive-green fruit ripening black to 20mm x 9.5mm.
