Sometimes climbing glabrous or hairy shrub or tree to 12m. 3-foliolate glabrous leaves, dentate serrate leaflets to 145mm x 70mm. Panicles to 150mm long of minute sweet-scented creamy white catkin-like flowers, sepals 1mm x 1.5mm, petals to 1mm x 0.5mm. Red, yellow-orange or blackish hairy fruit to 7mm x 4.5mm.
