Robust evergreen woody glabrous climber, young branches hairy, twining liana to 8m or shrub. Leathery leaves glabrous above, rusty puberulous below 150mm x 60mm. Terminal & axillary cymes of scented? 140mm yellow flowers with white spot between lobes, calyx lobes to 15mm long, 5-lobed bright yellow corolla to 90mm long, corolla tube to 35mm x 2mm diameter at base & 40mm long x 35mm diameter, corolla lobes 35mm long. Spiny oval seed capsule 75mm diameter X 50mm, 10mm spines.
Garden escapee. Poisonous to eat in all parts.
