Liana to 8m with silky hairs. Leaves to 175mm x 90mm glabrous above. Axillary & terminal racemes with bracts, flowers with 4 small mauve petals & one large purple one or white petals with streaks of red. Pale green winged fruit maturing yellow, wings to 80mm wide.
