Sometimes scandent shrub or tree with tomentose branchlets becoming glabrate, said to attain 9m. Serrate-denticulate coriaceous leaves to 100mm x 40mm, glabrous above, pilose beneath. Male flower spikes to 100mm+, female flower spike to 150mm. Flowers puberulent with small bracts, glabrous male calyx, female flowers with 4 tomentose sepals 0.5mm long. Pubescent capsule 5.5mm x 9mm.
