Large woody scrambling shrub to 15m with velvety lenticellate branches. Leaves 320mm x 150mm glabrous above, hairy beneath. Pubescent or velvety many-flowered cymes to 120mm long with minute bracts, velvety calyx 3mm x 2mm, fragrant yellow, orange, orange-brown or cream corolla with scarlet throat, tube velvety outside & hairy inside to 11.5mm x 2mm, lobes to 9mm x 6.5mm somewhat hairy at mouth. Green paired fruits follicles aging dark brown to 620mm x 10mm.
