Vigorous twining shrub. Leaves with 4-7 leaflets to 107mm x 60mm. Axillary racemes to 130mm long, faintly fragrant 40mm purple-brown flowers, staminate flowers with bracts & 3 sepals reddish to black purple to 4.5mm long, female flowers with bracts & 3-4 reddish or blackish-purple sepals to 11mm long. Lleathery fruit to 100mm long becoming rosy purple with white dots.
