Root-climber with hairy sometimes twining stems. Hairy leaves to 180mm x 60mm with serrate margins. Cymes with bracts to 10mm x 4mm, to 9 flowers, calyx tube to 6mm long wth 5 lobres to 13mm x 2mm, red to dark-red corolla to 49mm long with tube to 42mm long & lobes to 14mm x 5.5mm. Fruit a glabrous brown capsule 350mm x 2mm.
