Liana to 20m with puberulous striate lenticellate branches. Leaves to 120mm x 75mm, puberulent above, glabrous to nearly so beneath. Axillary fleshy cymes to 35mm x 25mm with bracts to 5mm long & bractlets to 2mm long. 4-toothed thick calyx with tube to 12mm x 5mm & teeth 1mm long, fleshy yellowish corolla with 4-lobed tube to 20mm x 7mm, lobes 10mm long. 30mm x 30mm brown fruits covered with woody calyx.
