Twining caudiciform glabrous tendril vine or shrub to 8m. Palmately 3-7 lobed glabrous leaves to 120mm x 130mm. Axillary inflorescence to 150mm long, 1-5 flowered in male, 1-3 flowered in female, tendrils to 120mm long sometimes developed as a blunt thorn 40mm x 4mm, bracts & bracteoles to 1mm. Creamy green flowers often mottled purplish.Male flowers to 56mm x 3mm including a 33mm long stipe, sepals to 9mm, petals to 6mm x 2.5m. Female flowers to 24mm x 4mm including 8mm long stipe, sepals to 8mm long, petals to 4mm x 1mm. Coriaceous yellow or whitish fruit to 45mm x 30mm veined with green, brick-red or purple.
