Tendril-climbing glabrous herb to 3m, perennial sub-herbaceous climber from tuberous root. Palmately 3-5 foliolate mucronate lobed leaves 50mm long & nearly as wide. Cymes to 75mm long with a tendril to 80mm at the end & bracts & bracteoles to 2mm. 12-flowered males, 1-3-flowered females. Yellow males 26mm x 7mm including 6mm long stipe, 5-lobed calyx, tube to 8mm, lobes to 9mm, petals to 6.5mm x 2mm. Female flowers to 15mm x 8mm including 2.5mm long stipe, calyx tube to 5.5mm with lobes to 6mm, petals o 2.5mm x 0.3mm. 2-valved leathery orange fruit, to 30mm x 22.5mm.
