Herbaceous climber to 2.5m or trailer with tuberous root-stock. Simple or 3-7 lobed mucronate leaves to 150mm x 150mm, Inflorescence to 50mm long, 5-10 flowers in male, 1-3 in female, tendrils to 100mm long, bracts & bracteoles to 7mm. Creamy to reddish-brown flowers. Male flower to 37mm x 13mm including 6mm long stipe, calyx tube to 20mm, lobes to 8mm, fimbriate petals to 17mm x 1.5mm. Female flower to 18mm x 15mm including 2mm long stipe, calyx tube to 6mm, woolly fimbriate calyx lobes to 10mm x 3mm, fimbriate petals to 7mm x 1.5mm. Coriaceous fruit to 45mm x 35mm.
