Perennial succulent thorny shrub to 1.5m. or small tree, caudex to 2.5 metres wide, climbing by means of thorns to 40mm long. Coriaceous grey-green leaves to 35mm x 30mm. Axillary inflorescence 20mm creamy-yellow flowers, male inflorescence of 2-6 flowers, female 1-3 flowers, tendrils to 80mm long & bracts & bracteoles to 2mm. Male flower including 3mm long stipe to 24mm x 4mm, sepals to 18mm, petals to 10mm x 2mm. Female flowers including 1.5mm long stipe to 10mm x 2.5mm, sepals to 8mm long, petals to 3.5mm x 0.75mm. Coriaceous yellow fruit to 22mm x 18mm.
