Robust glabrous tendril climber to 20m with 2-5 angled winged stems, rarely with small tubercles. Simple to 3-lobed leaves to 150mm x 120mm. Fragrant greenish flowers. Inflorescence to 60mm long, 2-20 flowered in male, 1-10 flowered in female, tendrils to 200mm, bracts & bracteoles to 1mm with tubular, campanulate flowers. Male flowers to 20mm x 10mm including 1.5mm long stipe, calyx tube to 6mm, lobes to 12mm, petals to 9mm x 4mm. female flowers to 14mm x 8mm including 0.5mm long stipe, calyx tube to 4mm, lobes to 8mm, petals to 6mmx 1.5mm. Coriaceous fruit to 60mm x 40mm yellow or apricot.
