Large fleshy vine or liana to 45m, 5-winged stems or with 5 rows of fleshy woody tubercles to 100mm diameter. Simple or 3-5 lobed leaves to 250mm x 200mm. Inflorescence to 120mm, pale green to pale yellow flowers sometime tinged purplish, up to 30 flowers in male, 2-6 flowers in female, tendrils to 250mm long, bracts & bracteoles to 2mm. Male flower to 37mm x 18mm including 2mm long stipe, calyx tube to 15mm with lobes to 14mm, petals to 13mm x 5mm. Female flowers to 30mm x 15mm including 0.5mm stipe, calyx tube to 10mm, lobes to 16mm, petals to 9mm x 4mm. Coriaceous fruit to 80mm x 45mm maturing greenish-yellow.
