Caudiciform, tendril climber to 4m. Single thin stem from underground tuber, climbing with long tendrils. Digitate 3-5 palmately lobed leaves varying widely in shape colour and silvery varigations to 90mm x 100mm, oval to round in outline & deeply 2-6 lobed. Green & white or yellow bell-shaped flowers in small clusters to 45mm long, 2-6 flowered in male, tendrils to 120mm, bracts & bracteoles to 1.5mm, male & female on different plants. Male flower to 22mm x 13mm including 4.5mm stipe, calyx tube to 3mm, lobes to 12mm, petals to 9mm x 4mm.
