Glabrous tendril liana to 25m with coriaceous entire or lobed glabrous leaves to 210mm x 120mm. Axillary corymbs or panicles to 140mm long with simple or trifid tendrils to 200mm and triangular bracts and bracteoles to 1mm, 100-150 flowers in male, 2-10 flowers in female. Yellowish flowers 9mm long, sometime reddish spotted inside. Male flowers to 15mm x 3.5mm including 8mm long stipe with calyx tube to 9mm, triangular calyx lobes to 3mm, petals to 4mm x 2.5mm, filaments to 1.5mm. Female flowersto 7mm x 3mm including 1mm long stipe, calyx tube to 4mm with lobes to 4mm, petals to 3mm x 0.75mm. Coriaceous woody yellow to red fruit to 65mm x 50mm.

Fruit poisonous

Medicinal uses, bark used for spinning threads for fishing tackle.
