Liana or herbaceous climber to 6m with furrowed branches. Digitately compound 3-5 foliolate fleshy leaves to 140mm x 130mm 5-7 lobed & pinnately divided with reddish dots both surfaces. Leaves of juvenile specimens sometimes variegated. Axillary many-flowered cymes to 60mm long terminating in tendril to 120mm, up to 15 flowers in male, 1-4 flowers in female, with bracts & brateoles to 1.5mm. Male flower to 40mm x 4mm including 25mm long stipe with calyx to 12mm long, lobes to 6.5mm, yellow-green to white or reddish corolla petals to 6mm x 1.5mm. Female flower to 30mm x 4mm including 15mm long stipe, calyx lopbes to 5mm, petals to 4.5mm x 1.25mm. White-green coriaceous fruit to 35mm x 25mm.
