Fruiting Times
Tendril climber to 25m with glabrous entire leaves rarely 3-lobed to 140 across. Terminal or axillary panicles to 200mm long with 20 yellow-green male flowers, 2-6 in female, simple or trifid tendrils to 200mm long, serrulate bracts & bracteoles to 1mm, fringed petals. Male flower to 15mm x 3mm including 4.5mm long stip, with calyx to 6mm or more diameter with 5 lobes, sepals to 9mm x 3mm, 5 petals to 10mm x 2.5mm. Female flower to 10mm x 3mm including 1.75mm long stipe, sepals to 8mm x 2.5mm, petals to 6.5mm x 0.75mm. 3-valved coriaceous oval fruit brownish-orange to 35mm x 25mm with persistent calyx at base.
Contains large amounts of water in stems. Stem extract used as fish poison
