Bifid annual tendril climber with glabrous or pubescent stems, pubescent sparsely toothed leaves to 100mm x 70mm, sometimes shallowly 3 to 5 -lobed. Male cymes or panicles 30mm long with puberulent bracts, small greenish-yellow flowers, calyx with 5 hairy lobes, 5 petals 2.7mm x 1mm, female inflorescence similar, soft-spiny fruit 20mm x 16mm
