Large deciduous climbing shrub with new growth rusty-tomentose, branchlets lenticellate, serrate toothed leaves to 130mm x 100mm glabrous except on nerves. Axillary tomentose cymes of white 20mm wide flowers with purple anthers, petals to 10mm, male inflorescence many-flowered, female few-flowered, glabrous fruit to 30mm long with light brown spots
