Deciduous climbing shrub to 7m with leticellate glabrescent reddish branches, coriaceous leaves to 95mm x 50mm with serrulate margin glabrous above pubescent beneath, 1-7 flowered cymes with minute bracts of 25mm greenish to yellowish-white flowers, 4-5 sepals to 7mm x 4mm, 5 petals to 13mm x 7mm, black anthers & 45mm long glabrous reddish-brown ovate fruit, leaf blades 135mm x 48mm
