Semi-evergreen climbing shrub to 10m with coriaceous leaves to 150mm x 90mm with denticulate margins scabrid-hirsute above stellate -tomentise beneath, pubescent axillary cymes with minute bracts to 7 flowers, 30mm white flowers, 5 sepals to 7mm x 4mm villous without, 5 petals to 17mm, glabrous brown glabrous or pubescent lenticellate fruit to 27mm long x 20mm with persistent calyx, grey-green when mature, reddish-brown glabrescent branchlets
