Large deciduous climbing shrub to 10m with leaves to 160mm x 110mm with minutely toothed margins hispid-puberulous above stellate-tomentose beneath, white-villose axillary cymes to 3 flowers, 30mm diameter pink flowers, sometimes white or pale yellow-orange, sepals 7mm x 5mm villous outside, 5 petals to 15mm x 11mm, new growth covered in white indumentum, fruit to 45mm long x 30mm, white-tomentose, glabrate or tomentose branchlets yellow-pubescent with lenticels, axillary cymes of up to 3 flowers, orange-yellow, red at centre
