Large deciduous woody twining climbing shrub to 8m with reddish-brown glabrescent branches with lenticels, leaves to 170mm x 150mm puberulous above & stellate tomentose beneath, 1-3 flowered pubescent axillary cymes of fragrant 50mm orange-yellow flowers, 3-5 sepals to 10mm x 8mm brownish tomentose outside, 5 petals to 20mm x 12mm, followed by 45mm diameter yellow-green brown-hirsute fruits.
